Delete your Aurea account
You can permanently delete your account and profile from inside the Aurea app. The steps are the same on iPhone (iOS) and Android.
Before you delete — back up your wallet
Aurea is a self-custody wallet: your keys live on your device. Deleting your account erases your private keys and 24-word recovery phrase from this phone.
If you hold any funds, move them to another wallet first — or make sure you have safely written down your recovery phrase. This action cannot be undone, and Aurea cannot recover a deleted wallet for you.
Delete from the app (iPhone & Android)
- 1Open the Aurea app and go to the Home screen.
- 2Tap your profile — the round person icon with your name in the top-left of the header. This opens Settings.
- 3Scroll to the bottom of Settings. Below Logout you'll see Delete Account in red. Tap it.
- 4A confirmation appears: “Are you sure you want to delete your account? This action cannot be undone.” Tap the red Delete button to confirm (or Cancel to stop).
- 5That's it. Aurea deletes your account, wipes your wallet keys and recovery phrase and all app data from the device, and returns you to the welcome screen.
What happens to your data
- Your profile is deactivated immediately and you lose access to the account.
- Your wallet's private keys and recovery phrase are erased from your device, along with your saved login and app data.
- Records that Aurea is legally required to keep — for example transaction and compliance records under anti-money-laundering rules — may be retained for the period required by law, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Removing the app isn't the same as deleting your account
Uninstalling Aurea from the App Store or Google Play, or removing it from your phone, does not delete your account — it only removes the app. Use Delete Account in the steps above to delete your profile.
